Munirah’s sister told her to perform du’a/prayer,
Right after her little baby-brother was shot in the head -
By a racist sniper, who knew not what he was doing.
He had been indoctrinated to believe that
All Muslims are terrorists and not human: “Jihadists.”
Munirah knew that jihad means an inner struggle, and
Has nothing to do with waging war externally -
The jihad is within;
Against the forces that draw one far away from Allah.
Munirah said to Allah:
“Most Merciful, Allah,
Thank you for accepting my baby-brother into paradise.
Please guide the killer of my baby-brother toward You,
The Most High, The Most Compassionate, for it is only
In You, Allah,
That his soul will be saved from all evil.
Forgive me of all wicked thoughts against the man -
Who murdered my baby-brother;
Help me with my inner-struggle/jihad.”
